When Hotaru Ichijo transfers from a school in bustling Tokyo to a tiny school in a quiet countryside village, she should be experiencing major culture shock. After all, there are only three other girls in the school, and none of them are even in the same grade as her. But adjusting isn't too hard for Hotaru, thanks to first grader Renge, and the Koshigaya sisters, Natsumi and Komari, who are in the seventh and eighth grade, respectively. Even though it takes 20 minutes by bicycle to get to the only place that sells comics, and the video store is ten train stations away, there's something about the laid-back lifestyle that makes her feel right at ease. It's a big change from the big city, but there are still plenty of new adventures to look forward to as Hotaru learns that "home" really is where the heart is in Non Non Biyori. (Sentai Filmworks)

Season 1 (2013) (S01)

englanti I can agree that this anime series is a perfect example of the slice of life genre, and it is best watched when you need to relax on a horrible, rainy day, or maybe to chill out after a very hard day at work. I think fans of this genre are going to really enjoy this show, getting carried away with the great endearing characters (I still cannot decide who I like more, Renge or Komari, as both of them are just amazing in my opinion), and the nice pleasantly peaceful atmosphere rounded off with adorable jokes. If you are not a fan of this genre, then you are probably not going to be able to watch it without your eyes possibly glazing over at times. However, I am lucky enough to be entertained and energized by this type of anime series, and so it more than adequately holds my attention. Plus, the cuteness of the show and the various jokes throughout the season make me smile from ear to ear. If you take into account my love of nature, it explains why I really enjoy the setting, the panoramas, and the contrast between city life and the tranquility of the countryside. I consider it a perfect experience - it fits me like the proverbial hand in glove... 9.5/10. ()

Okinawa e iku koto ni natta (2014) (S01E13)

englanti If I compare this special to the other episodes of the first season, then this would be one of the weaker episodes. Basically I thought that the only two stronger scenes were the previously mentioned scene from the shop and then Renge saying goodbye to the whole village...7.5/10. ()

Repeat (2015) (S02)

englanti I took this show at a leisurely pace of one or two episodes a week, and I slowly walked through the Japanese countryside again... This dosage is really ideal, and many times this anime series lifted my spirits, and other times it helped me to relax and be able to sleep after a hard day. Qualitatively, it is exactly the same as the first season, except at the beginning it feels like Renge is stealing most of the scenes for herself, which of course, given the fact that I adore this little girl, was no problem at all. Once again the best episode is the one that spends most of its time focusing on the relationship between little Renge and Kaede (who runs the Candy Store) and again shows this young woman at her most beautiful and in a very attractive light… Gradually, however, everything becomes more balanced, other characters get their own screen time, and the whole show is just very charming, pleasant, incredibly peaceful, adorable, and entertaining. 9.5/10. Hotaru ga tanošinda (2016) (S02E13)

englanti Hotaru is having fun during the four seasons, and Komari plays the most prominent role in three of the four narratives, which I thought was not such a terrible decision because I really like her too. Winter and summer were really so much fun, and spring and autumn had that lovely, likable vibe. 8.5/10. ()

Nonstop (2021) (S03)

englanti This show is still just as great, entertaining, reassuring, and enjoyable. I loved the way the characters interacted with each other, and they were great from the very first episode, and I knew from the scene with the frog that everything would be perfect. Plus, it seemed like this season had even more really funny scenes, which made me laugh, or perhaps I just found more of them funny due to everything else going on. I still enjoy the charm of the countryside, the way it is portrayed, and I love the occasional long shots of the countryside and the panoramic views too. In addition, the soundtrack is also really enjoyable. I am quite happy as a viewer, for whom this anime series literally brings peace and tranquility, so I have nothing to complain about. Even the storyline developed and was interesting, new characters were added, and one character, maybe some people’s favorite from the class, left. I was so happy to watch this show, it made the end of each week more enjoyable and, along with second season of Laid-Back Camp, made me feel better, which I really needed. 10/10. ()
