The central motive of this film is the political situation in Poland at the end of the 1970s when filmmakers started to bring to the fore the issues of the relationship between an individual and the society. The main character, prominent journalist Michałowski, shows disloyalty to the government during a TV interview. In this situation, the people around him suddenly reveal their characters and the hopelessness of their stands is exposed. (Summer Film School)
