(Paramount Home Ent. Fin.)

Kohti kaukaista rantaa (2015) (S02E10)

englanti The creators managed to maintain the show's fantastic, dark atmosphere right until the end. The tension was well-paced, Eva Green was mesmerizing as always, and for the first time, Dorian Gray struck me as a genuinely interesting character. The bleak ending was the cherry on top, rounding off a truly impressive episode. ()

Season 3 (2016) (S03)

englanti The final season was the only one I didn't give five stars to. This was mainly due to the unconvincing episodes at the very end (7, 8, 9). They felt as if the creators had stopped focusing on the details, so the end of the season felt a bit rushed. It's a shame because the potential was there. The American scenes also seemed off to me because they just lacked that perfectly bleak London atmosphere. ()

Kohtaamisia (2016) (S03E01)

englanti I love how the creators seamlessly continued the storylines and the mood from the end of the previous season. The fantastic atmosphere, solid pacing, and intriguing new plot twists were all there. We also got introduced to new yet familiar characters. I was particularly amused by the "squatter" in Malcolm Murray's house. ()

Saalistajien aika (2016) (S03E02)

englanti The plot remained engaging, maintaining its pace and delivering plenty of action. However, I'm not sure if shifting part of the story to America won't dilute the show's signature gloomy atmosphere. One thing is clear though, the gore factor is being handled by Dorian and Lily, and they’re doing a great job. ()

Yön olentoja (2016) (S03E03)

englanti This episode didn’t hit quite like the previous ones for me. Vanessa’s and the Monster’s storylines slowed things down a bit, and the American subplot kind of dampened the atmosphere. I was set on giving it four stars, but the emergence of the revolutionary cell in the heart of London turned things around for me. So, it’s a five-star episode after all! ()

Ruohonkorsi (2016) (S03E04)

englanti An intensely good, intimate episode where Eva Green once again showed her incredible talent, and I have to say, Rory Kinnear was right there with her. Combined with a bleak atmosphere as thick as winter smog, it was an absolute winner. ()

Helvetillinen maailma (2016) (S03E05)

englanti This episode wasn’t boring at all — lots of action and suspense this time, giving a nice break from the intensity of the last one. I didn’t mind that shift, but I did dock a star because the American subplot just doesn’t match the atmosphere of the rest of the story. ()

Pedon hetki (2016) (S03E06)

englanti The creators juggled multiple storylines in this episode and nailed it for me. The feminist revolutionary cell in London was in full swing, and I enjoyed the interactions between Vanessa and Dr. Sweet. But the biggest surprise was the action in America. The last supper at the Talbot estate had a solid atmosphere, something that had been missing up until now. ()

Laskuvesi (2016) (S03E07)

englanti The episode had its highs and lows. The London revolutionary cell seemed to get a bit out of hand, and the Creature’s story is getting weaker. But the ending won me over, bumping up my rating in the end. ()

Ikuinen yö (2016) (S03E08)

englanti The eighth episode had everything — plot, tension, atmosphere, and action. I was all set to give it a full five stars. But what was up with that plague fog? The streets were practically unbreathable, and people were dropping like flies (but only some of them). Am I supposed to believe the Londoners had airtight homes? That part was pretty weak. ()

Autuas pimeys (2016) (S03E09)

englanti The finale was a big letdown for me. I don’t mind unhappy endings, so that wasn’t the issue — it was the lack of logic in some parts. Why didn’t Dracula just kill everyone, given his preference for anonymity? And why was the beloved son buried in water, with his mother nowhere in sight? The creators spent so much time on boring details of the characters’ lives, only to rush the ending. ()
