Vikings seuraa aikansa suurimman sankarin, Ragnar Lothbrokin, seikkailuja. (SF Film Fin.)

Sopimus (2014) (S02E09)

englanti It looked so good, a clear five hovered over the episode like an eagle over Jarl Borg, because I got a great action, a perfectly intriguing King Egbert, the ever-desirous Kwinthrith, and on top of that, I won't have to watch Athelstan working on illuminations, haunted by hallucinations anymore, but then the infamous fist to the eye came. Apparently, there were leftovers from a film about the thirty years' war in the props department, so why not put those helmets on the heads of the extras, the battle is grand, it will get lost. It didn't get lost. ()

Petos (2014) (S02E10)

englanti I really don't know how I would be able to justify a lower rating. The final episode of the second season contained everything I love about this series, so besides the quality action, I also got a lot of intrigue and manipulation. The plans clashed with counter-plans, double agents buried trust, it simply had all the twists. ()

Season 3 (2015) (S03)

englanti Season 3 started off (and continued) very awkwardly, so I was pretty disappointed. There was a significant change for the better in Episode 6, which lasted until the end of the season. For me, the most striking episode was the eighth, which featured the attack on Paris and the best action of the series so far. I really enjoyed the character of Egbert, King of Wessex. Some episodes would have been rather bland without his scheming and manipulations. ()

Palkkasoturi (2015) (S03E01)

englanti The first episode of the third season did not impress me too much. Although I was not bored, I had a feeling that the creators were just recycling older plot lines to pretend that something was happening. I started enjoying it again at King Egbert's court and was looking forward to the campaign in Mercia, but it didn't last very long. I think a person doesn't have to study military tactics to realize that when commanders divide the army into two parts that cannot support each other, it is a clear display of stupidity. And I can't help it, but I really dislike the costumes. ()

Kiertolainen (2015) (S03E02)

englanti The second part was very calm, the plot basically didn't move anywhere, and to fill the time, they started to have shared dreams in Kattegat and Athelstan was sliding back into religious ecstasy, both of which annoyed me, so I rate it three stars. ()

Soturin kohtalo (2015) (S03E03)

englanti I don't know, something is wrong when even the battle frenzy doesn't put me in the mood anymore. The fight itself was again handled at a decent level, but I didn't really get the intro with the one-handed bandit. I understand that the creators wanted to make an important character leave in a way that would be memorable, but what was the significance of it? If he had at least pulled a rope behind him and given a signal with two tugs that they were after him, fine, but like this? Telepathy? The only interesting thing for me was the ritual before the first sowing. ()

Arpia (2015) (S03E04)

englanti The main positive of the fourth episode was Harbard's departure from Kattegat, I assume he was a Norse Rasputin. I was not particularly impressed by the scene at the lake or the revelation that Ragnar's son Ivar, unlike Floki's daughter Angrboda, does not age. Princess Kwenthrith (disinfection, poison) managed to amuse me once again. ()

Vallananastaja (2015) (S03E05)

englanti This episode would have been excellent for a good night's sleep, as it was quite soporific. Nothing big was happening, no issues were being resolved, and no preparations were being made, unless we count Ragnar's epic monologue about Paris. It seems that even back then, it was a favorite destination for all romantic souls. If it wasn't for King Egbert and his magnificent conclusion, I would have been heavily disappointed. ()

Uudestisyntynyt (2015) (S03E06)

englanti Finally, the creators came up with an episode that was worth it in the third season. Although Floki's and Athelstan's religious ecstasy often gets on my nerves, I enjoyed the episode because it once again reassured me that the ends justify the means and that Christian love for one's neighbor often manifests quite barbarically. ()

Hyökkäys (2015) (S03E08)

englanti The common use of crossbows in France is documented only from the year 947, while the siege of Paris occurred in the years 841-45, but that is my only critical note about this episode. Otherwise, it was a great event that I enjoyed the whole time. Until the sixth part, I had big concerns about the third season, but now the situation has radically changed. ()

Murtumispiste (2015) (S03E09)

englanti Although I was disappointed that Athelstan's visions were inherited by Ragnar, I could not lower my rating. While the action decreased, it remained high-quality. What was lacking in the battle scenes was fully compensated by King Egbert, this character has been entertaining me more and more with each episode, and I hope he will get more screen time. ()

Vainajat (2015) (S03E10)

englanti The final episode sympathetically concluded the initially hesitant third season and references the historical figure Gaange Rolf, the founder of the Norman dynasty. While the Greeks came up with the Trojan horse, the Vikings managed with a Parisian coffin, and the result was essentially the same :-) Thanks to Oda's hobby, I also learned that hair removal has a really long tradition in France. ()

Season 4 (2016) (S04)

englanti I consider Season 4 the weakest one so far. I was quite glad when Ragnar finally said goodbye. It was excruciating to watch his character disintegrate. Plus, it awfully slowed down the pace of the story. After the writer got out of this major crisis, the story started working again, only to bring more disappointment in the final episode. Twice the number of episodes apparently wasn’t a good move. ()

Perusteltu petos (2016) (S04E01)

englanti The fourth season left the same impression on me as the beginning of the third series - hesitant. The events in Kattegat didn't seem particularly interesting to me, earlier intrigues disappeared somewhere, so the story somehow lacked excitement. I added the fourth star only because of the events in Frankreich, Rollo took care of some humor (wedding and wedding night) and subsequently also the most important events of the first episode. ()

Kuolema kuningattarelle (2016) (S04E02)

englanti While the events in Kattegat didn't really appeal to me, I truly enjoyed the events in Francia and England. Rollo's storyline managed to make me laugh again, Aethelwulf's rescue mission to Mercia provided some decent action, and there are also intrigues happening in both places again, so I rate it five stars. ()

Armo (2016) (S04E03)

englanti The third episode rather disappointed me, the story basically stagnated, and I would recommend the fairy tale "How Princesses Wake Up" to the creators, there the battle with the fake bear was more interesting even without digital tricks. Besides expanding sexual relationships, Wessex didn't come up with anything new, only Rollo was funny, one reader. ()

Joulu (2016) (S04E04)

englanti So once again, I was quite bored at the Vikings. In previous comments, I complained several times about annoying religious visions, and now drug-induced frenzy has been added to them, I was delighted... The plot was really tasteless, bland, and it couldn't be saved by one tough fight ending with disembowelment, nor another funny Parisian window. ()

Lupaus (2016) (S04E05)

englanti This time, there were no major events, but there were at least some intrigues (on all fronts) compared to the previous part. Lagertha managed to entertain me again after a while, and surprisingly, the cheeky Ivar was the first of all Ragnar's younger sons to commit a killing, which I really didn't expect. ()

Mennyt elämä (2016) (S04E06)

englanti Yes, there apparently wasn't enough religious visions and other fantasizing, so now Ragnar will be forever in a trance - great. Here I completely agree with 0verseer, the Chinawoman and her goods are completely unnecessary stretching of the plot. Nothing much happened the whole time, and when it was supposed to come to a collision with the Frankish patrols, I was instead watching my "favorite" Harbard. If it continues like this, I will give it a thumbs down. ()

Voittoja ja tappioita (2016) (S04E07)

englanti The episode started off very nicely, so I believed in five stars, the battle on the Seine and the events in Wessex and Mercia greatly entertained me. However, then Nordic Rasputin started wreaking havoc in Kattegat, Floki started having visions, Ragnar took another dose, and I was in a bad mood. ()
