La Zizanie

Louis de Funès and Annie Girardot portray a seriously entertaining married couple whose daily bread was often an unhealthy degree of stubborn emotion. Both actors tackled their parts with verve and deliver many humorous scenes. However, I was most amused by the sequences with the pool table and the pull-up sash. I would certainly not be bored in such a lively and wild household, but at the same time I think would soon be ripe for a madhouse. A weaker four stars! (29.11.2020)

Here is a great duo. Louis de Funès and Annie Girardot are great spouses, precisely the kind who can pull off similar antics. From a screenwriting perspective, their film house is used absolutely brilliantly. Watering the flowerbed is simply a great idea. And we're basically still at the beginning. The film essentially constantly builds up and jumps from one idea to another. (28.01.2015)
