A naive painter left at the mercy of the whim of a sexually aggressive poetess. The reasons behind her misandry are not explained, but its results are devastating. This drama, as well as its main protagonist, Pina Menichelli, are a perfect example of a specific genre of early Italian cinema, called diva film. (Summer Film School)
