A film that relies on captivating performances, with Jim Broadbent consistently demonstrating his quality, but the main star here is Lesley Manville, who absolutely brilliantly portrayed the character she was given. She perfectly captured the development of her character in two hours, with whom you'll feel a sense of longing, yet you may or may not feel regret because it's not exactly a likable character.
