What would happen if Don Juan was a woman? Well, things would obviously turn out very badly, just like Vadim’s film. It's quite clear that Brigitte Bardot had incredible sex appeal even in her late thirties, but it's also evident that Vadim pursued his peculiar poetic style, where you feel like he was making a film that lacks a story, despite trying hard to create the opposite impression. That doesn't work for him very well, just like the supposed controversy doesn't work either.
