Let's be clear about it right up front: N. G. Moutier's extremely rare 1982 slasher is an artless, inept, difficult to watch piece of crap. It tells the tale of Ogroff, a wooden-hut dwelling maniac, whose sole ambition in life seems to be to murder anyone who trespasses across the small patch of woodland that he calls home. The result is either a product of demented incompetence or pure Gallic perversity. Unendurable for sane persons, but if you are into crude dismemberment, axe masturbation and leather masks, watch this utter cinematic trash and be amazed. (The Shockproof Film Festival)

Ogroff is an almost underground ultra-low-budget horror movie, however, you cannot deny its creative vision and some crazy ideas. As the plot develops, you actually cannot help yourself but stare at what’s going on in this movie about a masked lunatic with an axe. Eventually, it’s too much and should the director have been content with just one subgenre twist, I would have been quite satisfied.
