After the Halloween episode, a weaker part came, although Haley entertained me right from the beginning. I enjoyed Gloria's effort to have an evening just for herself (with little Joe), and I also enjoyed Phil's attempt to get into Jay's club, but then the interactive theater came... 4 stars. // "Yeah, sure, I am a stripper, Alex... I suspected betrayal the moment I found out that the Thanksgiving celebration was not taking place at Jay's, but at two farmer boys'. Besides a few funny moments, it felt quite feeble to me, and I was disappointed that the creators let a great opportunity for hilarious humor slip away. // "But never mind, let's take it positively: Who wants a goat?" The eighth episode made up for the Thanksgiving episode, which was not very successful. I really enjoyed this one. The hidden society within the family was perfect, and because of Gloria's Russian window, I had to watch this passage in its original version (and it paid off). When I set aside Cameron, it wasn't actually a bad episode, but it wasn't dazzling either, and after the dose of humor I got in the previous episode, it was noticeably weaker. Originally, I hoped for more daring at the school dance, and even Phil and Jay didn't once outdo themselves. "Where are you rushing to?" "To Scotland." / "My cell phone, English not good." I admit that I think the episode deserves only four stars, but because of a few hilarious scenes that really got to me (like Phil on the catapult), I just had to add that fifth star. No, I don't know, this time only a few successful scenes brought the entertainment up, overall the eleventh episode didn't impress me too much and I didn't laugh much either. For example, the conversation with the hint at the bar worked great for me, it's a shame that the whole thing didn't go in a similar style. // "Those two nice farmers lent it to me, thanks to me they realized that they forgot to feed the goats." I will not hide my disappointment, Clive and Juliana belong to Valentine's Day like humps belong to a camel (borrowed from Šimek and Grossmann), and Clive's gesture alone was not enough for me. Sal is starting to feel a bit worn out, and it's true that Haley and Alex really saved the plot, but if it wasn't for the surprise for Phil, I don't know if I would have stayed with three stars. // "Finally! Special episode. It was like from some home and garden show and not all parts entertained me completely. The DIY segment with Phil and Luke turned out really well, the satellite adjustment directed by Jay was also enjoyable, the cooking lesson with Claire was a bit weaker, and the gardeners tried to convince me forcefully that I was having a good time (in vain). // "Can't you make noise somewhere else?" This time I had a good time, but it wasn't enough for the fifth piece. I liked how Phil thought he would fulfill his big dream and that Jay was finally proud of him, Gloriin's gift to Claire was flawless, Manny got me as a GoT guide for Haley, Alex's career progression was perfect, so that affected hysteric on the CT ruined it for me. The fifteenth episode, in my opinion, did not turn out very well. When I found out that Phil was organizing the bachelor party, I was looking forward to it more than Frank, but the creators managed it nicely. They introduced "the nice guy" Ray and everything went smoothly. Even Manny with his new project couldn't fix this, especially when Fizba came up again... // "That idiot across the street left it open." "I live there!" (19.03.2019)

Everything went well for Phil in this episode, his preparation for the charity basketball game was great, the game itself was high quality, and I even enjoyed the wood incident. To my surprise, Gloria's effort to contribute to society didn't impress me too much this time, and Gloria is among my favorite characters. // "Somewhere, a little green pushpin is very embarrassed for you." Even in this case, the creators didn't amuse me enough to give a full score, but it was very close. I really liked the involvement of all individuals in one long chain of intrigues, the subsequent inevitable domino effect was absolutely perfect. 4*+ // "I can't go shopping in high heels for home!" I had to go for five pieces, at the moment when even Cameron can make me laugh, I just couldn't do otherwise. Besides feeling at times like I was watching films Memento and Hey, dude, where's my car?, I was also caught up in the Dunphy's ambush on Alex and Rainer's life step. // "Did we land? The creators shamefully ruined the perfect Dunphy's with the recasting of Cameron's sister, Pamela. I am thoroughly enough spoiled by one affected individual to ruin my mood, two is a completely different (lower) league. Thank goodness Mitchell held it together somewhat. Claire's reaction to the word prohibition was definitely the best punchline. // "80% of the joke is surprise, the remaining 20% is words." / "I made a mistake, there is a monster in this room!" I usually enjoy Jay and Phil's moments together very much, and they didn't disappoint this time either. I wonder how many of those coins Phil still owns. The fight for women's rights in this case appealed to me, especially with Luke and Manny's involvement. I just don't know if Jay is making enough money from parking to cover the additional expenses. Oh well, but then there's Pamela and Cameron... 4* - "Someone must have punctured our tire!" (20.03.2019)

The escape episode was very successful for the creators, it once again confirmed to me that if I enjoy it, I will give it a full star rating. The spa with Jay and Mitchell was a perfect experience, the events at Jay's house really made me laugh, and Thelma and Louise's escape from their own family was the cherry on top (in a good way). // "And this is my son Douglas." / "At least I have a boyfriend." From the final episode of the eighth season, I was still expecting something more. The creators played more on emotions this time, and humor took a back seat, and that bothered me quite a bit because I mainly watch the show to laugh. The series is clearly starting to lose invention, and the humor is losing its original lightness. There were more and more scenes whose funny moments didn't work for me at all. Then again, there were also scenes in which the writers showed they still had it in them. It just seems to me that they were overwhelmed by the large number of episodes. The eighth season disappointed me several times, but the first episode of the ninth season confirmed for me that when the creators really want to, they can still entertain me excellently. It wasn't as brave as in the previous episode, but I still had a great time.
