The film remembers Péter Mansfeld, a revolutionary of 1956, who was executed in March 1959, when he had turned 18. The teenager, fighting during the revolution among the insurgents of Széna square, organizes resistance in 1957-58, with his troop made up of boys of his age. After a number of childish actions they steal the car of a colonel of the state security, they nap a policeman at guard, and take away his gun. Due to their lack of experience they are soon found out. From the very beginning of the questionings, Péter takes everything upon himself. When taken to an on-the-spot examination, he runs away, but the injured boy is turned in by the doctor in the hospital. Péter – in contrast to the life sentence of the court at first instance – is sentenced to death at the second instance. (HungariCom)
