Tohtori Robert Laing (Tom Hiddleston) on Lontoon liepeille nousseen uuden, huippumodernin 40-kerroksisen tornitalon uusin asukas. Nobody can explain to me what kind of nonsense I have just watched. I was looking forward to a clever and interesting sci-fi set into the 1970s. But the result was possibly the most yawn-inducing extract of boredom I have seen recently. And it wasn’t salvaged even by the interesting architecture and the qualities of the cameraman connected with it. That is the only part where you can talk about quality.

I was looking forward to High Rise since the first trailer, unfortunately Ben Wheatley prefers boredom to fun as he has shown in his previous films, and he confirms it now. The idea of the film is decent, but underutilized. I was hoping for a civilized Snowpiercer, what I got was an over-desined posh borefest that even Tom Hiddleston can't save. The scene where Hiddleston flays a man's head was the most interesting in the whole film. In short, a non-sensual mess of dream scenes. 40%

At first glance, the movie has an interesting cast, but upon watching it, you will realize that this is actually a pretentious film that thinks a bit of violence and rough scenes will help, as it has nothing else to say. It's like watching a party of worn-out, horny, but highly socially positioned losers.
