The third season seemed the weakest one so far, mainly because the writers sidelined the serial killer in favor of Miguel Prada and failed to replace James Doakes. From my point of view, the annoying Rita character didn’t do the series any favors either, only managed to ruin my mood several times. But despite all my quibbles, it wasn’t a total disaster.

Season 3 plays with the somewhat backwards plot of whether Dexter can have a family and be a father. And if he can have a real friend. I find myself clearing my throat as the quality gets worse. Dexter has turned into the Miguel soap opera.
