Viola Bíró operates the lavatory of one of the subways of the capital. she lives with her daughter Angela, who is attending a dressmaking vocational school, in a housing estate flat. Angéla is disgusted with her mother's "smell", and suffering from this, Viola odours her working place with fragrant sprays, while at home she keeps scrubbing herself all the time. In secret she tries to make aquaintances by placing ads in the lonely hearts columns. At school Angéla designs models by her own invention. Marina, her friend, in secret enters her for an international competition of "young talents" at dressmaking. When Angéla by chance finds out that her mother is looking for a partner, she sets out for Rome, hitchhiking, but she doesn't cross the frontier. In the meantime Viola, knocked down by muggers, has been taken to hospital. Angéla takes her mother's place in the lavatory of the subway, and she continues the designing of models. (Mokép)
