I Am a Criminal

On trial for manslaughter, innocent casino operator Brad McArthur (John Carroll) hires press agent Clint Reynolds (Craig Reynolds) in the hopes that Reynolds can sway public opinion in his favor. In a slick move to bill Brad as a humanitarian, Clint has his benefactor adopt an orphaned newsboy named Bobby (Martin Spellman). The boy soon begins to idolize Brad and the pair become fast friends. Meanwhile, Brad's girlfriend Linda (Kay Linaker) and his press agent Clint, who are having an affair, begin plotting a double-cross. Brad grows suspicious, skips town with Bobby, and hides out at a mountain resort where he falls in love with the proprietress. As authorities close in, Brad, whose decision to jump bail has made him a verified criminal, must choose whether to give himself up or to keep on running. (Echo Bridge Entertainment)
