Suburban Copenhagen. When former pro footballer Torben, now unemployed and recently divorced, offers to coach his 13-year-old son's football team, his son David is far from pleased. The team is the worst in the league, their coach has just left them for their competitor, and both the boys and the club management seriously doubt Torben's coaching abilities.
