This film is classified as a comedy, and rightfully so. Especially in the first half, it features brilliantly written conversations with sparkling, well-crafted dialogues and creative gags in the spirit of the best traditions of British humor. However, the scope of the film is broader as it attempts to approach the subject of infidelity and sexual exploration more comprehensively, rather than just as a superficial farce. It is serious at times, looking into places that passionate and emotionally driven lovers usually overlook or do not want to see. The film lives up to its title: the script, direction, and performances are truly remarkable, so why not give it the highest rating, especially considering how underrated it seems to be on FilmBooster? It's astonishing that it has received so few reviews, especially since it has been on TV three times while I've been part of this database. Overall impression: 90%.

Why wouldn't I admit it when it's known about me anyway? Sometimes I'm a huge moralist. But why did I now not have the slightest problem with a romantic comedy whose hero is an unfaithful philanderer who has no qualms about seducing another woman, even though his marriage is actually idyllic? Well, yes, it's the fault of George Segal and Glenda Jackson, an utterly charming couple who look incredibly handsome and are brimming with sympathy. Moreover, when the script of A Touch of Class is so generous with situational and verbal humor, it offers perfect scenes like "my wife, our kids and my in-laws fly with us" or "a golf bet with cousins of friends of cousins...". And probably the thing I liked the most was that there were about ten minutes left until the end of the film and I had no idea how the writer and director in one would resolve everything. Well... I think he resolved it perfectly. A Touch of Class made me really happy.

Quite an entertaining film with a good script, but it loses quality as the runtime progresses. It starts to get a little boring. To save it, the creators gave it an ending that might be slightly unexpected, contrasting with the classic approach of romantic films. But this isn't a classic romance. And the ending is well deserved.
