Rick Moranis stars as a preoccupied inventor who just can't seem to get his electro-magnetic shrinking machine to work. Then, when he accidentally shrinks his kids down to one-quarter-inch tall and tosses them out in the trash, the real adventure begins! Now the kids face incredible dangers as they try to make their way home through the jungle of their own backyard! Hurricane sprinklers! Dive-bombing bees! A runaway lawn mower and much, much more! englanti When I was a kid, I understandably loved it – there aren't many things a child wants more than to spend a day in miniature in a world of giants. After the years, it remains a fine adventure, but it would work better as an episode in a series about a mad scientist and his various experiments. The exposition is very long and the heroes are uninteresting, while the part around the shrinking doesn't show that much (the best is the scene with the bee and the fight with the scorpion). Fortunately, at least Rick Moranis has a sufficiently funny face and Johnston knows how to work with environments and special effects, so it all sort of passes harmlessly and entertains. ()
