This sensitive and ironic film points up two girl-faces from Mándy's short stories: Vera is happy, but cold, while Borika is tired, but warm-hearted. Vera is spoilt and terrorises everybody. Her class-mate, Zsuzsi takes away her sweetheart, Szabolcs, whom Vera tries to get back with the help of a strange guy, Dada. The lodger of Vera's family, Borika works as a waitress in Café Barbara. From her early childhood she has been struggling hard for a spiritually rich life, which her friends do not understand. They exclude her for her eccentricity and even try to defame her with her suitor, Horány Béla, the smuggler. Her boss transfers the desperate girl to a café in Zugló. Szabolcs tries to get back to Vera, in vain, now Dada is more important for her. But Dada disappears without trace. (jakelijan virallinen teksti)
