Errol Flynn and Greer Garson star in this adaptation of book one of John Galsworthy's noted Victorian-era novel "The Forsyte Saga." Garson plays Irene, a music teacher who becomes part of the wealthy Forsyte clan by wedding the calculating, cold-hearted Soames Forsyte. Although Soames virtually bribed Irene into marrying him, he never quite manages to buy her love, and after two years she falls for Philip Bosinney -- fiancé of the young June Forsyte. But this union is not to be, and surprisingly Irene's connection to the Forsytes will not be severed. (jakelijan virallinen teksti)

englanti That Forsyte Woman is the first adaptation of the famous Galsworthy saga. First, I saw a modern mini-series in two eras that told the whole story from June's childhood to Fleur's romance. This is the story of Irene’s romance at the center of a multi-generational tragedy. The lovely Greer Garson suffers in her marriage to the heartless Errol Flynn... I can't help but be impressed given that this is captured in Technicolor. It’s just too bad about the damn London fog! ()
