Aa Ab Laut Chalen

I fear that with each successive rerun, the amount of stars I give it will decline, even though it's a fairly well-chosen NRI theme and the lead couple is likable. But everything else is a complete mess. It’s a good half an hour until we get to see Aishwarya, and when the first song comes on, she only passively participates. Is that how it’s done? At this point, she was at the beginning of her career, but she had already made something of herself in South Indian films. Unfortunately, it seems that Bollywood has to make everyone go through the process from the very beginning... The humor is very folksy, and the life of the Indian community in NY is a total parody, but I'm completing Aishwarya's puzzle with gritted teeth. There are some nice shots of her youthful face in the film and in Taal, they did a much better job with Aishwarya, which again can only be appreciated contextually. (29.01.2013)
