Waco Untold: The British Stories

In 1993, 82 members of an extreme religious group called the Branch Davidians lost their lives in one of the most controversial sieges in modern American history. 23 of those who died in the showdown with US federal officers were British. 30 years after the tragedy his series weaves together their intimate and emotional stories through the testimonies of their loved ones and survivors of the fire. Many of them speak here for the first time. In episode one we meet self-proclaimed prophet, David Koresh. Those who followed him were promised salvation as God's 'chosen people' - destined to be the eternal survivors of a Biblical apocalypse that would bring the second coming of Christ - but death was all that awaited the group, as they were raided by federal agents for stockpiling illegal firearms.
