The Open Window

The battaillon arrives in the country town again for practice. The Mayor does not want to see soldiers, too many bastards have been born since last year. Their cooking woman left them this way, too, she gave birth to a son. They took her back after all, but they also want to get her married. So the task is to find the soldier who jumped into the chamber of Mariska through the open window last year. After many turns of a comedy, the clumsy but golden-hearted Novotni, who causes much of the confusion, is willing to marry Mariska, mostly for the "package" weighing four kilograms and forty decagrams, and some others find their pairs as well.
