Under Water

Ever since she found out her husband Evert is having an affair, Foekje has been living in a hotel she cannot afford. In desperate need for money, Foekje has come up with a plan. With her soon to be ex-husband, she visits her mother to have Nel sign a document so that Foekje can claim the money the municipality offers for Nel's house. But Nel, an avid doomsday prepper who lives in her basement in anticipation of the Apocalypse, soon realizes what her daughter is up to and locks them all up in her barricaded bunker. At the mercy of her mother once again, tensions rise, and things start to go wrong. Very wrong. (Cinequest Festival)
