On September 19, 2017, an earthquake hit Mexico City. The director’s grandparents lost their apartment. As they retrieved their things and faced the consequences of the tragedy, Tovar and her grandmother made this film. Telling the story of this queen - and the invisible monsters she confronts - became a welcome distraction and the perfect escape, a breath of fresh air amid desolation.
