The Three Sisters

The film is a modernised version of the Csehov drama, put in Budapest, Hungary, in a Soviet barracks between 1987 and 1991. The three sisters living in Hungary for the last eleven years, daughters of a meantime deceased commander are longing back to Moscow from here, but they are bound by habituation, jobs, inertia and the chancelessness of change. So the three stay on, while the Soviet troops which have been stationed in Hungary transiently up to 1991, are leaving the country permanently, taking with them friends and lovers of the girls.
