Antarctica - The Frozen Time

On several islands in the Southern Ocean, you can find flora and fauna as they were in Antarctica tens of millions of years ago. There is diverse wilderness without any ice, so typical for the southern continent. In the Ross Sea near the coast of Antarctica, we can find entire colonies of penguins, albatrosses, sea lions, and seals. Before it detached from the Gondwana supercontinent 180 million years ago, the now ice-covered Antarctica was home to numerous plants and animals. This film shows life in this unique corner of the world and presents its transformation from when it was connected to present-day Australia and South America to the present day with the consequences of global warming and the loss of ice sheets.
